Enhancing Physics Knowledge for Teaching – Magnetic fields
Public Pending reviewDownloadable Content
Download PDFIn this session we’ll begin with Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction. We’ll describe and use the analogy between a current loop and a magnetic dipole and study the magnetic energy in various situations, including the energy density of a magnetic field. Finally we’ll look at magnetic forces from the point of view of the interaction between moving electrical charges, the Lorentz force law, and describe the force between current carry wires, the Biot-Savart law.
