Public DepositedDownloadable Content
Download audioSandra's lullaby came from family in the North East of England, but was possibly originally Scottish. Origin unknown. Sandra had know it all her life and was in her early seventies.
The words are "Iddy bye Louie lay doon and sleep soonie/Iddy bye Louie lay doon and sleep soon/For the wee wife's your mammy/And the wee lad's your daddy/Iddy bye Louie lay doon and sleep soon."
In the project this lullaby was adapted for single parent families by changing the people 'for here is your mummy, and here is your nanny" so that the parent could personalise it for their family when singing to the baby.
